Hi All,

Have a medium size safe in the basement.  I keep a can of damp rid in the bottom of it.  Lasts a good 6 months or more.  Everything is fine in the Winter.. around 70 degrees and 50% humidity.  This Summer though I've been running the AC.  To keep the upstairs around 72 degrees the basement ends up about 60 degrees or so.  The safe temp/hum is now at 62/72..

I know humidity can vary and such.  I can't seem to find a chart that shows a temp-hum ratio that is ideal for safes..

Any hel pwould be appreciated,

Regards

I don't think damp rid is good for guns. Use silica or a golden rod

My safe is in the garage in Houston humidity during the summer.  I have a golden rod and 2 EVA Dry rechargeable units in the safe.

No problems with rust or mold in the safe so far.
