Are Federal Hydroshock component bullets available? Does Federal offer them as components?

Thanks Again

try looking for HydrA-Shok...you might have more luck...but the real question is why?

I have 200 to 300 rounds of Hydrashok, why isn't it good anymore?

I don't believe so, but you can buy Speer Gold Dot as components. The Gold Dots are vastly superior to the HydraShock.

It's not that it's not good "anymore", it's as good or bad as it ever was.  Thing is, it was never that great to begin with, and there are much better bullets out there now (Ranger, Gold Dot, etc).

Hydrashock was as good as it got in the 80s and 90s. It has a propensity for getting clogged up when fired through cloth, and thus behaving like a FMJ.

Top tier performers today include: Winchester Ranger-T, Winchester Ranger Bonded, Federal HST, Federal Tactical Bonded, Barnes XPB (Found in CorBon DPX series) and CCI/Speer Gold Dot.

All of those typically meet the FBI protocol minimum of 12" penetration, and offer excellent expansion, even when fired through cloth. (And auto glass)
