Hey folks, I keep an eye on Capitol Armory's used silencer section, and I've been looking for a can for my almost complete 8.6 Blackout AR10 upper. I found a Range 36 Ti for a nice discount, and placed the order. Has anyone used one? I like using low back pressure cans for large frame ARs especially, just to reduce the violence on the action. This one comes with their Hub QD adapter, though I expect I'll just direct thread it. If I decide I want to swap it between a few hosts, I'll probably do the YHM SRX mount instead. Those Hux muzzle devices are insanely expensive. So to my biggest question: I know that the 5.56 Hux cans can't fit on a 30 cal flash hider, the flash hider is too long. Is the 36 caliber the same way? Are those muzzle devices longer in turn than the 30 cal ones? I probably won't use it in that way, but I'd like to know. The best decibel rating is not my biggest concern, I just want to bring it down to the point that I could shoot a few rounds without hearing protection if I had to and the neighbors a mile away can't hear. I don't know anything about that round but assuming you're shooting subs you should be fine. It's just a little too loud with 9mm subs on a pcc to shoot a lot but you could dump a mag no problem. I shoot it on a pistol with no ears but it's fairly low volume. Point being it's right on the edge of hearing safe with subs but not quite there. If you're doing low volume I'd just do a ti direct thread. It's ridiculously light for what it is set up that way. You'll really like it on gas guns. Backpressure is zero and port pop is minimal. It throws the noise downrange in typical hux fashion so can punch above it's weight in the right environment but probably sucks indoors. I shot it on a 556 under tin roof with a bunch of guys with fancy 556 cans and it sounded the best

It's rated up to 338 Lapua Magnum, so as long as the bullet is stable out of the muzzle I can't imagine the can not holding up to that. Or did you just mean with regards to noise, without hearing protection? In any event, I essentially never shoot indoors. Actually never never. I can't remember the last time I shot indoors. Maybe two times total in my life. I already own a Flow 556k and a Flow 762, so I'm nicely acquainted with how good Hux is to the ear relative to its decibel rating. I'm pretty excited for this one. |

I don't recommend it often because of unrealistic expectations people can have of a multi cal but if you understand what you're getting it's a great can imo. |

| What twist rate is your barrel? I bought a 8.6 Fix and the twist on that is 1/3, very fast. I know I have to be careful on ammo choices as the bullet may yaw and destroy the can. I haven't shot mine yet but I'm definitely interested on your results. I have two cans for mine and don't want a accident playing with it. |
