Hey guys - it's been a long time since I've had an FAL (Century POS) and found an IMBEL marked Pacific Armament Corp. in great shape locally for about $110 $1100 out the door, and am curious if that's a decent price? It's got a big flash hider with angled ports on top, the barrel is not cut for the bipod.
What's the story on these, were they assembled on an IMBEL receiver or imported whole? Any idea of the age of these and if the barrels are chromed? thanks |

I think what you are looking at is a kit . Put 300.00 with your 1100.00 and buy a Dsarms rifle . You wont be sorry. I have two Dsarm rifles aSTG 58 & heavy barrel , both are keepers. |
| I would say you can get a better deal. For $1100 you can find an STG 58 on a DSA receiver and in my opinion have a better rifle. I have shoot an imbel on imbel but my favorite is the STG on DSA type 1 that i have. The STG barrel generally much better barrels than an imbel one. |

Sounds a little high for an IMBEL kit build, but not horribly high. If they have IMBEL barrels, the may or may not be chrome lined. If they have US made barrels, they are probably not chrome lined. But you are probably better of without the chrome lining.
They are kit builds and definitely not imported whole- no complete FALs have been imported in any large numbers since the 89 import ban took effect in 1990, except for some imported for LE purchase only. |

I did some more searching last night & figure this is an IAI build. It's got the Hesse flash hider - apparently pinned or soldered on. The chamber at very least is chrome lined but can't tell about the barrel.
For what I plan to do with it I should probably just go for the DSA, - as said above it'll probably be only about $300 more & I'd have some customer service... One other odd thing I noticed about this is the lock lever is not vertical like a lot of the others I've seen - it was very close to the safety. I assume this is just a variation & not an incorrectly installed part? |
