I bought a Russian (Tula, 1951) SKS and a 1320rnd crate of 7.62x39 corrosive Romanian ammo.

I don't think I'll ever get the smell of 60 year old cosmolin outta my sinuses...

I feel dirty and cheap.

You should feel proud that you have a milled piece of art over a stamped garage gun (ak)

I'm more impressed you found surplus 7.62x39 ammo. What'd you pay for it all? I bought a Norinco SKS new many years ago when they first popped up at local gun shows. Always shot great but sold it when money got tight, I'll pick up another SKS if I see a good Russian version at a good price.

Disassemble and clean the bolt real good.  Especially the firing pin and firing pin channel.  Dirt jammed firing pins have been known to cause interesting things to happen.  The Russian made ones are the cream of the crop.

Now he has to explain to his wife why he smells like a Russian hooker.
