When I look at this picture that accompanied a story of our Navy firing on Iranian boats approaching....
...all I notice is all that 50 cal brass. |

| Reminds me of a picture a friend has of his tour in Vietnam. They guarded the perimeter of a base and after a battle the entire bottom of the military vehicle was a foot deep in .50 brass. He said afterwards they shoveled it out and buried the brass. If the military will ship it to me I'll reload it for them. |
| When I was 12 or so, my step-father took me and my brother on a tiger cruise. He was in the Navy and stationed aboard a submarine tender. We got to see a submarine launch an ICBM during the day and one at night. They also had a 50 cal shoot and the brass looked just like that. When the shoot was done they picked up all the brass and links and put them back in the ammo cans. They were not very thorough and my brother and I were able to scrounge a few links and cases that were left under some other gear. |
