Hey guys, I just got my lower back from Ident and am having an issue. When I tried to mate the SBR upper with the lower, the rear take pin is extremely tight. I have to hammer it in/out. The weapon passes the function test in this state but I haven't been able to get it out to test fire it as it's still in tax stamp jail. I attached to the lower in question to another upper and it works fine, no pressure and pops in and out as it should. This was not happening with the SBR upper before I shipped. The upper is the new Noveske 10.2 LoPro and the lower is a Gen II Noveske. This issue really doesn't make sense to me, does anyone have any ideas of what I could look at on the upper to see if it something with that?
Thanks |

Hope you're not putting together an SBR before the stamp.
I would never dream of doing such a thing
I am mainly worried that the lower got a little torqued or something during the engraving process. If the pin is just tight I know it'll loosen up as I get to use it more but this is my new baby and I'm worried about a potential larger issue. |

My Gen II lower is has this issue but not as bad. Works OK with 4 uppers I've tried although sometimes I need to use something hard to push/pull out the pins. Then I tried that same lower the other day with a CMT/Stag upper and it was a no-go, I couldn't get the rear pin in no matter what. Visually I can't see how its off but it is. The CMT upper was a stripped upper from my parts drawer.
Since I could get the pins in my built uppers and the uppers I use with this gun its not an issue. Also its kinda nice. The upper/lower lockup is super tight; If I hit the muzzle area of my rail with my hand I can feel the vibration in the stock like the rifle is 1 solid piece; feels different than my other AR's this way and its a nice feeling. BTW, my Noveske Gen II is a registered SBR and its been refinished so its not like i'm returning it. |

The SBR lower... Is it new? Or has it been used before and you are converting into an SBR? If you have used it before how was the pin before? This was brand new, I built the lower myself and was never used on any other uppers. I tried it before I sent it off for engraving and it was a nice tight fit but I didn't need to hammer the pin in to get it to lock. I only noticed it when I got it back and reassembled the rifle but I can't see why it's so tight. I can see on the hole for the pin on the upper where there is some marring on the metal where the pin is hitting really low. Now sure why... ETA: This lower works perfect with my BCM upper |
