Looking at a AN/PVS-14 at an online pawn broker. They don't have a spec sheet on the tube but they did provide me close up pis of the labels. I asked him to look in the ocular lense for the serial number but the guy had less brain cells than teeth and couldn't find anything. I know from the cage it's ITT and the NSN is correct. Anyone want to guess at the tube from the warranty date or lack of a contract number?

I have seen pvs-14's that were released without the contract numbers on the data plate for sale by numerous civilian retailers these are legitimate civilian market items. It is very possible this could be a put together unit or it could be potentially stolen property it all depends on the tube inside so without opening it and PM'ing one of the experts here the info on the tube its all a guess.
Also possible the housing is a replacement housing put together by some Military units repair shops hence why it lacks a contract # (as it was a replacement part). Most of those bodies have US GOVT PROPERTY on the top. But that does not mean it is actual US property, as those housings can be had for the civilian market too. |

looking THROUGH the ocular (not AT it) at a certain angle, with
the right lighting, should allow to read -some- info on the tube's back plate....however, there's the issue with the teeth
would you trust the guy to unscrew the ocular lense? nitrogen purge is long gone, most likely... how much is he asking? |
| I am going to call him again today and see if I can coach him through obtaining the numbers on the tube. Asking $1,500 and it comes with a helmet mount, a head mount kit, a weapon mount, carry bag and a few other accessories. Looks to have been very well taken care of. |

For 1500 you can't go wrong. The parts are worth at least that. Used housing : 700. Used Tube (Omni IV) : 800 . If you sold the housing in parts it is even worth more. If the tube is decent and works well you really can't lose here. |
