I the Imbel "gear" receiver metric or inch? Thanks, srt205 |

AFIK all Imbel receivers abd complete rifles except for a special run or two of receivers have always been metric. I do not know the details on the inch models, but ask here and they can tell you... www.falfiles.com/forums/index.php |

AFIK all of the gear logo receivers are metric. Century had a run done by Imbel in the early 90s that were not GL marked and were Century marked. These were hybrids with Inch features but metric mag wells. All are excellent receivers. These were used to build their STG and L1A1 kits back when Century was a smaller company and paid alot more attention to detail. Going this route allowed for clean builds with both types. I have no idea why they still don't do this, but my guest would be that they cost too much to meet their price point now so their more recent builds use a cast receiver. If you see a Century receiver marked L1A1 it is in fact an Imbel receiver in this hybrid pattern. The current R1A1 receivers are cast. |
The one that I have is cut for inch mags. |
There were both types. The standard style cut for inch mags are the most desirable. |
