I'm looking for an inch pattern receiver. I have a Century R1A1 and want to put a correct receiver on it. Who carries them and what am I looking to spend here? I already have seen the one's from DSA. I'm not looking for cheapest or top of the line. Lets just call DSA a starting point. |

The finish that it came in was a perfect match for the park'ing that was on my Aussie parts kit. |

Quoted: That's a nice stick! Did you do the build yourself? I'm hesitant about doing this on my own. I don't even have the proper tools. I figured by the time I bought the tools I could have paid a smith to do the work for me. Quoted: I'm looking for an inch pattern receiver. Unfortunately, a brake has been pinned onto the muzzle due to it being bought during the ban. I'm going to chop the barrel since it's in such good condition. Great rifling left in mine. |

I found the parts kit here on the EE, and then I got one of the DSA Inch receivers in '05. I wasn't going finish it while trapped behind the AWB lines. So, an FAL-experienced friend with all the needed tools finished it for me, for free, after I returned from NY in '07. |

Send it to these guys to build it-
CMPARMORY Unless you plan on building several. In that case it probably makes sense to buy the tools and build them yourself. |

Only one likely on the shelf ready to ship is Entreprise. Fal files has a fair amount of complaints on QC but most can make them work.
DSA is allegedly supposed to have Aussie L1A1 coming down the pike soon. Coonan is in the final stages with their shop patterns and is supposed to display take orders on Aussies at Knob Creek this week. Used market -buena vista made Entreprise were supposed to be GTG -used or New old Stock DSA probably under $500 |

I do the FAL builds at CMP Armory and we are getting ready to raise our prices as we haven't had a price increase in over 5 years. Right now it's $175 for a standard build but it's probably gonna go up to $200 in the next month or so.
Most other smiths are $250 and up. I'd suggest staying away from Entreprise unless you can find a Buena vista marked receiver as they have a lot of problems with their newer made receivers. |
