Does IN require your trust papers to be filed in court, or can I just get them notarized?

Mine were just notarized. Nothing too fancy bout the process.

How did you get the process started and how did you get it notarized? I've never dealt with any of this before and I am clueless.

Use Quicken Willmaker and take the results to your bank and sign them in front of a Notary. The Notary then signs and stamps that they witnessed you (and whomever else is a Grantor of the Trust) sign in their presence. Then you are done. Depending on your bank they may charge you for the Notary service.

LoneWolfUSMC: You're a LEO, affirm? Are your records clerks notaries? I have all of my notarizing needs taken care of at work at no cost by the girls in admin.

Made the trust with quicken will maker, took it to a good friend of mine, she is a notary. She said I owed her nothing but I gave her a $5 for her time and effort.

I am sure one or two are, but since my Mother in Law is a notary I usually just have her do all of our stuff.
