I need two inexpensive scopes.  One for a inexpensive AR and the other for a bolt action rifle.

Maximum distance I'm going to shoot is 200 yards, probably less.  Both guns have pickatinny (sp) rails.

Any suggestions?

Nikon has some great glass for the $$ as does Weaver.

What is your definition of inexpensive?

Price range varies a lot depending on who your talking to and how they spend their money and how much they make.  Cheap to me is $200. Cheap to my dad is $50 A NICE SCOPE to my dad is $200. A NICE SCOPE to a buddy is $2500.
But taking a shot in the dark I think primary arms makes pretty dang good stuff at a lower price point. I would go for a $200 primary arms scope over a $200 Nikon.

Weaver v3 1-3 for carbine

Leupold vx1 3-9 for bolt gun.

Both have lifetime warranties and aren't chinacrap.

Yer welcome

I'd take a look at Vortex' lineup. Affordable, solid products with a great warranty.

We are really spinning our wheels without a budget cap.

For bolt action can't go wrong with Nikon Prostaff. For the AR maybe Bushnell, the Weaver recommended above or Primary Arms 1-6x? Depends on budget.......

I'd take a look at Athlon's line of optics.  They are a newer company that appears to be putting out a lot of optic for very little money.  I have a 4-14 on order.  They have excellent features: reticles, turrets, FFP, illum, etc...

I got one and will put it through it's paces.  Obviously, it's not going to be like my Kahles or GII Razor, but for 270.00, we'll see how it stacks up.

There is a long post on the hide right now discussing them.

Look into Ziess conquests as well. Very good optics for the price. I have 3 or 4 of them and love them.

I'm usually anti-budget scopes, but I stuck this on a beater upper that I built and I was very pleasantly surprised.  For $125 it was a steal.  Pretty decent glass and it holds zero.

Vortex is good value throughout the line.

Personally, I am not brand loyal and try to find closeout buys on name brand optics (Leupold, Burris, etc) that are clearance or discontinued models that are way less than other Internet prices.

I have had good luck finding clearance optics at Natchezs and sometimes SWFA.  Amazon has good buys but I personally worry about possible counterfeit optics from sometimes questionable sellers.

I would recommend bypassing the Crossfire. Need to know what $$$ you consider an inexpensive scope.

If inexpensive falls within the $300 range i'd reccomend a SWFA SS 10x or 12x Mrad for the bolt gun. for the ar depends what your after. I would think vortex or Leupold mark AR

I'll add another recommendation for the Redfield Revolution scopes.

Redfield is owned by Leupold and the scopes are assembled in the US.

I would skip anything from Vortex lower than the Viper line.  Vipers and Razors are great though.

For the OP, I don't know your budget.  For truly budget optics that offer OK performance, look at Primary Arms.

Still no definition of inexpensive from OP.  We're all just making wild guesses without a budget point.

Any time cheap scopes comes up, you can't leave Primary Arms out of the conversation.  They've got a handful of offerings that might fit op's needs.

ETA: OP, with budget scopes, you get a lot more quality for the money if you go with a fixed power scope vs. a variable.

Didn't he say $200?

Bushnell Thrown Down PCL 1-4x would be my choice.
