I've wanted an M1 Carbine for probably ten years, but like Lugers, have been holding off because the ability to get ripped off was way too high.  A CMP carbine was my best answer.  Well, I took the little bugger to the range never having fired an M1 Carbine before and loaded six rounds of Armscorp ammo in the magazine.  Here's what she wrote at 25 yds on a 1" square:

I wasn't exactly trying very hard either - just squeezed them off one at a time to see where she was on the paper.  That cartridge has a lot more punch than I thought it would too.  Overall - very happy.

M1 carbines are great shooters. I can break clays at 100yards 10 for 10 with my Inland. I would like to see a new model stock come out. Something like Tapco makes for the SKS and Mini14. Although my repo folding stock is as compact as a carbine can get.

Congratulations on your purchase.
