I have purchased a DSA Rail Interface handguard from the EE and I'm having trouble installing it.  I'm assuming here, but wanted to confirm:  I have to remove part #23 from the DSA schematic (Handguard retaining ring?) to get the rail to seat correctly for me to install the front handguard screw, which means I have to remove the barrel, correct?

This is going on the DSA StG para I posted earlier.

You might find it easier to cut your handguard ring off as opposed to removing your barrel.
Then if you want to go back to original h/g , there are two piece hand guard retainers available out there.
