Currently have a rider with USAA for 10K of firearms and 1K for a safe and renewal coming up for $220 a year.

I know of NRA's built in insurance and looked into CollectInsure.

Any others out there?  Opinions/Experiences with insuring firearms?

I've been knee-deep in this for about a week now.  I'm looking for around $20k worth of insurance that would encompass ammo as well as firearms. Here's what I found while asking questions & pulling quotes....

I polled Farmers Insurance (Homeowner's policy rider), Collectinsure, & the NRA vendor.

NRA was the most expensive at around $185 a year and they do NOT cover ammo.  Also, it was fairly easy to find people bitching about less than stellar customer service (during claiims process).

Collectinsure was around $136 a year and they DO cover ammo.

Farmers insurance quoted me $100  a year and they DO cover ammo.

I'm going with the rider on my homeowner's policy as I already pay them for services and they're a solid company that has a known track record.   Collectinsure sound real good, everyone seems to love the up-front customer service, but they were a bit more per year and I had a hard time finding comments about how they were during a claim event.
