I have an 870 express mag and I'm wondering if it would be safe to shoot 00 buck through a super full choke? The choke says to use only lead. I'm trying to find the choke I like best with the 00 buck but I want to be safe doing it. Also would it be safe to send slugs down the same choke? Right now I only have an improved and the super full.
The ammunition is winchester 2 3/4" 00 buck  winchester 3" 00 buck winchester 2 3/4" rifled slug 1 oz Federal 2 3/4" rifled slug 1 oz and remington 3" 00 buck
Thanks

Do not shoot slugs thru super full or extra full chokes.

Buckshot patterns best thru modified and regular full chokes most often. I do not know if it would be unsafe though. There are extra full buckshot choke tubes such as the patternmaster. MIKE.

You want a Improved Cylinder or regular cylinder choke for rifled slugs.  I believe somebody makes a rifled choke that is made for shooting sabots.
