Is it true if you live in Missouri you cannot have a SBR unless you have an FFL or C&R license? I was all set to get my fingerprints done and I was told this. Any help would be great!!!

... No short barreled rifle, short barreled shotgun, or machine gun may be possessed, manufactured, transported, repaired or sold as a curio, ornament, or keepsake, unless such person is an importer, manufacturer, dealer, or collector licensed by the Secretary of the Treasury pursuant to the Gun Control Act of 1968, U.S.C., Title 18, or unless such firearm is an "antique firearm" as defined in subsection 3 of section 571.080, or unless such firearm has been designated a "collectors item" by the Secretary of the Treasury pursuant to the U.S.C., Title 26, Section 5845(a).

P.S.  A trust can't get an FFL, so you will need to go the individual, LLC or corporate route.

A C&R license is a very low bar.

The part in red means that C&R guns don't require you to have an FFL.  But most people get a C&R FFL to get non-C&R NFA stuff.

Confused yet?

Just to put things together...... If I get a C&R or FFL I can have a SBR in Missouri? Other than that I am screwed.

If you DON'T have a C&R in MO, you may only get C&R SBRs.

If you DO have a C&R in MO, you can get any SBR.

It makes perfect sense!

I guess it goes without saying that you don't want to let your C&R lapse if you own non-C&R NFA in Missouri.
