| I want to pin/weld the flash hider for the G5 I have ordered so overall barrell length is 16 inches. Is this something that can be done with a QD mount without messing up any alignments or something??? thanks |
I don't know if that specific mount will do it, but yes you can pin them on to make the 16" |
We can do this for you. Once we have checked alignment and done our normal installation, we drill a small blind hole through one of the wrench flats, drive in a hardened steel pin, and then tack the pin in place with the laser welder. The G5 mount is hard, and drilling it will require solid carbide drills. Use of high temperature silver solder or TIG welding will not only adversely affect the heat treatment (of both the mount and the end of the barrel), but it will usually introduce misalignment.
