Is $800 too much to pay for a STG 58 kit built onto a Vulcan receiver?  Assuming everything works like it should.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Vulcan.

$800 should be for a nice Imbell or DSA kit IMO

Thanks for the response.  I've heard nothing but bad (mostly) about them too, but if it works?  Also, I think the DSA's are above that range.  I was just on gunbroker and auctionarms and I didnt see anything with a vulcan or Hesse receiver sell.  I guess that says a lot.

Yes. The Vulcan receiver is questionable. Look for one built on an Imbel or DCI and expect to pay around $650 to $700. Check the EE on Falfiles for some great deals.

You can get a DSA STG for $800 plus shipping/tranfer from FAC.

I would not buy it, you will probably not get your money back out of it, go with the FAC DSA built.

Thanks a lot for the responses guys, I'm new to these things.  What's FAC?  Any website?

FAC website

I've not ordered from them myself (yet), but they do seem to have a good rep here and at FALFiles.  And their prices and selection are pretty good.

Friends don't let friends buy Hesse/Vulcan.  Way too much for a vulcan gun.

If it worked perfectly and had a great finish to it then it might be worth $500.00 at the most.

I wouldn't give over $400.00 but that is just my opinion.

FAC has some awesome prices.   I'm off to a gunshow this weekend, and I'll check around for something with either an Imbel or DSA receiver.  If I dont find anything, I'll look for a place to do a transfer.

The price I mentioned was from a local gunshop, and I'll be damned if I have ever seen a good price from a local gunshop in my town.

I'm w/ BigDozer66 the most I would give for a Hesse is $400 if it ran.  $300 for a Stg58 kit and $100 for a receiver.
