My brother in law won one of these little saddleguns, but can't get the lever action to cycle.  Does anyone here know if that lever's freezing up is a problem on the M-49s?  Or is it just dirty/broken?  He lives in another state and I'm trying to do some troubleshooting for him.  I know the general concensus is these rifles are pieces of crap, this one appears to be in Good-Very Good Condition.

Thanks.

Put some good penetrating oil on it and see if that frees it up. A lot of older guns have been sprayed with way too much WD-40 and are just gummed up. Do be careful, the receivers are aluminum and can be damaged if you are too rough. I'm not aware of any chronic issues with the M49. Mine works great.

I bought one of these for my daughter and from what I understand the only issue with them is that the extractor had a tendency to wear out over time.
