I found an old Ithaca Hammerless SxS 12ga today at the local gun store, and I'm looking for more information about it. There are almost no marking on it, with the exceptions of the serial number 827xx found in several places all over the gun. On the inside of the receiver under the chambers the serial number is marked, and on the other flat portion the letter S over 12. On top of the barrels on the rib is stamped Nitro Powder Steel, and Ithaca Hammerless is on the sides of the receiver with some scroll work. Please excuse my ignorance as far as proper terms, but what exactly am I looking at here?

Best information I could dig up is I think its a Lewis model made in about 1903, but nothing else. This gun has an absurdly low price tag on it, but is in fairly rough shape, as in it was heavily used for many years.

Thanks
