Well, not in hand yet, but I'm picking it up this weekend at my dealer.

16S in FDE.  I'm looking for a rail extension and thinking the Midwest Industries "SCAR rail extension" is what I'm wanting.  There's not a lot of info on their website about the differences between the models, but looking at them, I understand they're all the same length, the SSR series requires removal of the front sight (which I don't want to do), and the SOCOM version has a lower height.

Is this correct?

Yes the SSR requires sight removal.  Then they have Key-mod, M-Lok, and Pic rail versions.  SOCOM is like the PWS rail where the top rail forward of the front sight is slightly lower.

Midwest has hosted several threads when they released all the different versions of SCAR rails in this forum.  Might take some searching though.

Helpful hint if you want the best upgrade for your SCAR the Geissele Super Scar trigger was by far the best upgrade I did to mine.

Not my rifle, but the rail looks good.

I have looked through MI's industry forum, but some of it still didn't make sense to me.  Thanks for the info and tips, guys.

After considering it further, I may go with the SOCOM rail because mounting a light on the lower section would clear FOV through my optic more.  I really like the KDG rail, but for my use I don't see it worth the additional expense.
