How are the K31's sold my J&G Sales? I'm looking at the 'very good' with bayo in walnut. Any other good sources?

If I was buying another one I would go with SImpons LTD no questions asked. I find they have the best selection of Swiss rifles out of any dealer and I can attest to that since I have purchased 3 from them with absolute satisfaction. Not to mention their CS is great. You can ask the salesman to pick out any rifle you want and compare them.

The one I received from them a few months ago  (very good conditon, walnut furniture and matching bayo) was perfect!  I paid the extra for hand select and the wood had only about three minor compression marks that came out and wood had matching serial numbers and she was from 1941!  The muzzle barely took a USGI ME guage and blueing was around 90%.  She also came with an original sling dated 1942 and original Swiss grease canvas bag.  For the price with a matching bayo......you can't go wrong IMHO.  I don't know what problem the above poster had but hopefully he'll fill us in.  I suggest you get one and pay the hand pick and ask for one with great wood and you won't go wrong.  Send me your email and I'll send you pics of what I received and Merry Christmas!!

For a rifle that was made in 1941 (mine in question) with 90% blueing, very few compression marks on the wood, period correct and dated sling,  perfect bore/crown and ME around 0.........I'd call it perfect.  Not unissued, but perfect given the variables.  I take it you may have been unhappy with the one you received from J&G?  Did you go with "hand select" and call in the order?  Did you send it back or call and ask for another?  If your unhappy with it you should call them back at least because they will make it right.

I have never purchased a rifle from J&G. Rather I was just wondering what your description of perfect was.

Anytime I order a Swiss rifle I do so through Simpsons LTD.
