Tech Support Working Group

They're DOD, they work for the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations, but they also get some funding from the State Department.

No, not for sale at all.

IMHO, about the ONLY way you're going to get one is if you work for KAC, you work your way up to be close to "the Boss" and put it on your Christmas Wishlist (Year end bonus). When they're not swamped with work, Reid has been known to bend over backwards to make Christmas good for those that put unique items on their wishlist.

No kidding. I have a few friends that are engineers there (one of the friends is close enough that he's going to be in my wedding) and the things I hear are just awesome. The friend that is going to be in my wedding had a "very happy birthday" last year. As his first year working there he got to take several weapons out to the range and fire away. He said they stepped into one of the ammo bunkers (yes they have ammo bunkers) and pulled a "few thousand rounds" out, and went and shot it all up.

I saw them at Knob Creek last fall, and when they stepped off the line I asked them if that was the legendary KAC Chainsaw.  The guy grinned and said "Wanna hold it?"  Shit yeah I did!  it was like Christmas!  While I was smiling and fingerbanging the Chainsaw, their rep was digging through his backpack and fished out a couple velcro patches for being the first person to identify the Chainsaw.  Sure, it's not a significant story, but I thought it was pretty awesome.

What is up with that flash suppressor?  Looks a little weird.

It's Knight's Triple-Tap muzzle brake. It's like their M4 comp for the NT4 suppressor, but it's $450 inconel muzzle brake. You can still use it on their suppressor, but it will void waranty if anything goes wrong.

So wait.  A $450 muzzle that KAC makes to accept their own NT4 suppressor will void the warranty of the suppressor that is was designed to mount for?  WTF?

i dont believe it was designed for the supressor but it may be used with it.

Perhaps KAC has a reason of concern, but if a muzzle break created an issue that may cause a failure with a suppressor, wouldn't you design it so that a suppressor couldn't be attached to it?  I mean, if you're going to design a muzzle devised that can also be used as a mount for one of your suppressors wouldn't you make sure that the two worked 100% together?  And the whole, "well it would work in case of emergencies." is just a line of crap.

They don't have to make their stuff stupid proof, it's in the contract.  We made this - it's cool, it wasn't designed to work on the suppressor and may fail.  If it does, we told you so and it's your problem.

I'm thankful for companies that don't rely on the "must have 17 warning labels" ideology.
