I just acquired a military surplus KaBar that appears to have been manufactured by Imperial.  Could this be true?  Did other companies besides KaBar make KaBars????

It is all black with a park'd blade and a black leather sheath with the NSN on it.

Yes its true. Several companies made the "kabar" blades for the military. Robeson, Western, Camillius, Union (kabar) just to name a few.  It is actually called a USMC 1219C2 pattern. You can find the Kabar shaped blade being 6", 7", or 8" long for the ones made in  WW2. The Western version is the only one I know that made a 8" blade. Most of the contract blades were 7" long. Hope that helps.
