One thing I really like about LIMA6 is its compatibility with more common AR parts than other belt fed AR upper out there. I actually consider the DI system of the LIMA6 superior to the other piston operated system. It's overall lighter, less moving parts, and more compact. LIMA6 would function much that of M249 para or MGA SAW K, more suited for mobility and CQC then a fix position fire support. Not being used as a fix position fire support, the need for QC barrel is diminished. However, a QCB still has a purpose, the ability to switch caliber without needing to take the upper apart. It is where the LIMA6's AR compatibility comes in handy, there are existing AR QCB system out there that can be easily adopted to LIMA 6. There are currently at least three companies that has AR QCB systems: Pantheon Dolos, Cry Havoc,LEO Takedown Out of the three, believe the Dolos has been around the longest, US Air Force is using Cry Havoc system for their air crew survival rifle kit, and LEO Takedown seems to be the newest. All three system uses the standard AR receiver's barrel nut thread with its adaptor. Once the adaptor is installed, it is simple just twist, clamp on/off between the barrels. QCB for AR only benefit is compact storage. However, for LIMA6 it provides the option of quick caliber change, barrel length swap, since it is not practical to switch upper receiver of LIMA six. I had previous experience with the Dolos system, so I gone ahead and tried out using it for the LIMA. Quick modification of the Dolos' adaptor to remove its antirotation taps, installing it was straight forward. With its barrel bushing, the piece that holds the barrel and locks into the adaptor, I now have QCB LIMA6. I have both 556 and 300BO barrels, swapping between the 2 takes less than a min. If anyone is thinking about adding QCB, may want to take a look this option. |

Do you have any pics of the modification needed? I heard Harvey say that is what is needed, but I didn't want to spend the money and risk messing it up. What do these tabs do and does removing them have any potential to negatively affect the L6? Ive been wanting this for the caliber change possibilities mostly |

Pantheon Arms (the maker of the DOLOS) just finished a version of their product to work with the L6 (without modification), and it should be hitting shelves soon. We will be testing it shortly. Sorry I don't currently have ability to publish pictures, but if you look up Pantheon's web site and look for the installation instruction it would be the section where the instruction shows where to install the set screws that go into the Tri_lug to prevent rotation. Those two small taps on the collar need to be removed smooth, so the Tri_lug can be rotated 90 degrees to match the gas tube port location on the LIMA receiver. The Tri_lug itself slips over the barrel thread and is held in place by a castle nut pressing it against the receiver. The locking collar is attached to the barrel. When twist on, the locking collar screws into the Tri_lug, compresses the barrel extension to the receiver like that of the barrel nut. If Pantheon is going to come out with a version specifically for LIMA, then likely they will relocate its anti_rotation lug. My adapted Dolos works quite well. Swapping between 556 and 300BO barrel is a breeze. Now only if they have a link that can take 350L, 22 Nolser
