Does anyone know if a LMT rail-mounted 9" M203 will allow clearance for a suppressor on a MRP with a 10.5" barrel? The only picture I've seen of something like this setup is on the last page of the picture thread above, but that is of a 9" rail-mounted M203 on a 10.5" HK 416 upper. And to me it looks like the HK 416 upper is a tad higher than a MRP upper which would allow more clearance for a suppressor. Thanks. |

when i spoke with LMT they said the rail mounted 203 was designed for the MRP system. I think what your asking is if the launcher will fit on the rail if you have a silencer on? Yes, the launcher barrel dosen't go anywhere near the can, and i have shot shotgun rounds through my launcher with no harm to the can. The question is does the silencer mount just right to cooperate with your MRP rail?, if you already ahve the can then it does, but i haven't owned an MRP so i don't know how much room you have their. Thats also all saying if you have the average 1.5"-1" can diameter, if its a huge diameter you might have a problem. |
The suppressor I have in mind is the SureFire FA556K so I shouldn't have any issues mounting it to the 10.5" barrel. However, the primary issue is whether the profile of the MRP brings the rail-mounted M203 closer to the barrel thereby creating a clearance problem for the suppressor. |
