Is the ptx quick change linkage worth it?

Thanks.

what are u running it on? LNL Progressive? Doesn't it come with the linkage? Yes, worth it. Saves you a spot on press.

Progressive, old. Originally had the ejector wire but I upgraded to the EZ ject  system.

I'm not hurting for press space since I seat and crimp in the same slot. I don't run a check die since I load standing and have a light shining where I place the bullet.

Is the spot saved the only plus? The actual name is the quick change pte linkage.

Thanks for the response.

When I ran LNL, I used it to save the spot. I don't think it improves the powder drop accuracy or anything.

Seems like you are happy with your process now. I liked seating/crimp separately but if not your thing, then no big deal.

I use the linkage, it helps keep consistent belling when using the powder through expander insert.

Eta: if you are not using the ptx I don't think it does anything for you.

Thanks guys.

I've survived this long so I guess I'll be okay.

I use them.  I have one for each pistol caliber.  It makes belling more consistent and easier to adjust.

I use the bullet feeder die after powder drop.  That die is activated by the belling on the case, so it's more important if using bullet feeders.

If you want uniform throws, its mandatory when using a PTX through expander.

Hence without the linkage bar, the cylinder powder amount adjuster crashes hard into the top of the slot each time, and this unsettles the hell of the power in the dispenser to cause eradicate throws.

As for adjusting the linkage bar, set it so the cylinder powder adjuster shaft just stops a hair short of the touching the top of the slot, and  need to re-adjust it when you change PXT expanders for each caliber as well.

To add here, take the time to polish the Taper bearing edges of the PXT expander.
They come in a rough type state, and this can cause some problem with the case releasing cleanly from the expander as the case drops back down (more jolting to the powder dispenser that can unsettle the power in the dispenser as well).  Of if you know someone with a lathe, then just have them may you Hornady PXT M type expander instead.

So this is normal out the box in regards to the bearing surfaces being on the rougher side,

M type expander instead,
