looking at purchasing a Leapers scope mount for my poly. Does anyone have any experience with this mount?? I read the scope mounting faq and my poly's reciever should line up well. has anyone attempted to add the 3rd contact point to the front of the mount ? Did it help or hurt? not sure I even want to scope my rifle at this point. I like shooting the irons. However My eyes are not getting any younger. Can't decide so I don't want to shell out the cash to buy one of the 3 pt steel mounts IE: ARMS 18, Smith Ent., Sadlak. I figure If I like the rifle scoped I can always upgrade to a steel mount later. I am going to mount a old weaver K6 on it that I pulled off one of my bolt guns. That scope is stout. I had it on my only deer rifle when I was a kid and it got abused. I never had to touch the adjusments It always shot on the mark. I'd appreciate any info on the mount. Gator shooter. |

Don't waste your money on the Leapers mount. Problem, just like the SA units is as the rifle heats up, the mount does not hold solid, and you get POA changes in the mount. Trust me, in less than ten shots you will be going after the sight windage/elvation knobs only to be in vain. If you are going to scope a M-14/M1a, then spend the money on a steel mount on know quality/proven design. |
