Don't think I've seen this before.  Adding leather to the riser of a magpul MOE\CRT stock.  Only leatherwork experience I have is from Scouting.  Had an idea that I couldn't shake.  May not look the best but hope it inspires others.

Don't have funds for more tooling to make it look any nicer that'd just sit around and collect dust.  If anything I can buy another riser and make one better.

Template made with contact paper on the riser.

Leather cut with razor.

Scored a line with the calipers and hole punching.

Really didn't take long.  Not perfect but I'll do.

Need shape it, get some contact cement (DAP) and stick it to the riser then stitch it up with a saddle stitch.  Will post progress here.

Here's the project it's going on.

Pseudo scout rifle based on an T\C Encore.  Barrel is just about here from MGM 16.25in 7mm 08 with a few extra holes drilled and tapped in the scout scope position and will have open sights.

CRT stock will be Rit dyed black soon.

Just remembered some old 1911 officer's sized grips I had lying around.  What do you think?

Looks great!!  You'd be hard pressed to tell what started foliage.

Tacked on with DAP Contact Cement.  Darn missalignment by a few cm but the glue had set too fast.
