I have a Stevens Model 67 E 12ga Shotgun. Picked it up cause I wanted an old shotgun just to have to shoot around.
It was in kinda rough shape so I was cleaning and taking it apart, which might not have been the best idea. I didn't get too far before something didn't add up, I had a part sitting there on the ground and a screw. I feel real stupid and wish I could have figured this out without posting here and looking like a moron. I can see what it is and where its supposed to go I just can't get it in. (thats what she said) I've tried a lot but don't really know anything about assembly/disassembly of shotguns. Kinda hard to tell WTF the part is from the pix  but from the tiny screw & where the empty spot seems to be I'd say it's the ejector.
Not fun......if I'm right & it is the ejector you're gonna have to probably disassemble the whole thing to get it back in because it's a major booger otherwise. I can never get my sausage fingers in there to hold the ejector just so while fiddling with the tiny screw to get it aligned. Savage diagram at GunParts Corp Click on the picture for a better resolution. Dropping the trigger group & removing the bolt & carrier is about the only way to get it back in. The trigger group is easy, just undo the screw on the right lower rear & punch out the pin that's beneath the empty ejector screw hole. You might want to remove the stock first to make things easier to get back together later... Once you have the trigger group out pull the slide to the rear & gently pry the action arm off the carrier, allowing you to remove bolt group to the rear. Once it's out of the way lining up the ejector & it's teensy screw is a cake walk. Reassemble in reverse order & you should be good to go. I have a few of these old Savage/Stevens shotguns & have had to deal with fixing them myself more than a few times.
