Ok. I live in Minnesota and I am wondering if assisted opening knives are legal to carry.  Thank you

Just to make a broad statement. Im a cop and I've never arrested or ticketed ANYONE for carrying an illegal knife.

Especially an assisted opening knife. I don't know very many that would. WE LOVE KNIVES TOO!!!!!

That's why we've got our eyes on you......

No really.  I think the thing is all going to depend on if you run into someone in a bad moood or you piss them off.  Either way, I'de rather not have something on me that is illegal just in case.

It all depends on the cop.  I had a Soldier in my platoon get nabbed for having an assisted opening Benchmade knock off he was given by someone in Iraq.  They tried to argue that it was a auto.  It sure cost that poor kid a shit load of money to fight a bullshit charge so just watch yourself.  Law enforcement can be as upstanding or shady as anyone else who walks this earth.  If they want to make your life hell for whatever reason they can play games with you.  It hurts worse when you don't have money to fight it.  The DA told the kid it was bullshit, but he'd drag the case out if he didn't hand over the knife.  I guess he couldn't feel like he'd been beat by some kid.  Fucking petty shit.
