Just bought a M1A National Match with Springfield 6-20 scope and Springfield mount. I would like to make sure that the scope is perfectly level with the receiver. I've never used a level before on any of my other rifles, but I want this one to be perfect. Does anyone know a source where I can buy what I need, and how would you go about doing it? When I look through it the crosshairs look canted to the right, but the windage and elevation look straight with the gun. Is that normal, or is it just me?
Thanks |
| Block up a bubble gauge on the rifle (helps to have a Harris bipod w/ pod lok) and then look out at a drop line set a few hunderd yards out (your range option may vary), line up the reticle to the plumb line. Now see if the bubble gauge comes out correct across the other places while the reticle is alinged with the drop line. |
