Lever guns are a total 180 degrees different then the type of rifle I'm usually into, not sure what it is about them but I really, really need one, just to have and enjoy.  Next gun show I stop at I'll be looking for a nice Marlin 336.

Then I'll be sending it to Lew.

Had the barrel cut to 16 inches and put a 2 3/4 power Bear Cub scope with a post reticle.  Awesome deer slayer!

My doe two seasons ago.  Dropped like she was pole-axed.

Just got this one a year or two ago.  Put a Cadet (short l.o.p.) stock on it.  Has a 1.5-4.5 power Bushnell.

Yeah, both the Trapper and the .45-70 let you know that you are shooting them. I am actually planning on putting a recoil pad on my Trapper to help that and also to increase the LOP as the stock is a bit short for me.

I have not had a chance to hunt anything with the Trapper, but all of the hogs I have been able to get with the Marlin .45-70 have only required on shot to take them down. My furthest shot with it ranged out to 112 yards.

Most LEO's run the course with AR's., After turning in VERY goods times with a M1 Garand last year I ran the 30-30 this year for sh*ts and giggles.
