Was looking at some over on Blackhawk's website.  They were supposed to last anywhere between 8-12 hours.  My question is this; Why so damn expensive?  They want $18.99/light stick?  Am I reading this correctly?

For just a chemical (Cyalume) light stick?  I think they misplaced the decimal point.  Maybe $1.89 per light stick at their inflated prices.  Maybe that's the price per dozen in a box?

Gotta be wrong £1.50 each here.

They usually come ten to a box, sounds like missing information on their site.

The usually run about $1 each.

ETA: The $18.99 price tag on Blackhawk's site is for a box of 10.

Around a $1.50 usually, but watch the expiration dates.
The Fun Show guys sell outdated stuff and chemical lights definitely go bad.
Eight years is the usual shelf life and they're 100% dead by then.

Light sticks are good if you need to simultaneously mark/light multiple areas or need to leave the light behind.  For the money and weight, a good LED and AA batteries will easily compete.

Maybe you guys are right.  Maybe it's supposed to be $18.99/box of 10 and I'm just understanding it wrong.  That would certainly make more sense.

A way to check if chemlights are bad without unwrapping them is to tilt them end-to-end.  You should feel the small glass capsule inside it gently hit the end of the tube.

Some jokers will snap chemlights still in the wrapper, just to be cute.
