Where to find the KNS lightning link protector?
Also, how much does it cost to modify the carrier to SP1 spec & modified fire control group? Friend of mine has Spikes Tactical low shelf lowers... it possible for him to use it w/ LL without milling down the receiver? thanks! |

I saw KNS website but their KNS protector link is broken and no info is available on their website.
Are they still selling that protector? Who sells the modified fire control group? Also, we need 4 position burst group option if possible. Quoted:
There a good chance the low shelf will work without modifaction, I milled out my PSA high shelf with a dremel and it works great but it took alot of fine tuning. KNS Precision has a web site. |

Depends on what your gunsmith/machinist intends to charge you. DPMS carriers are already the correct dimensions. FCG does not need modifications, unless you're talking about modifying an M16A2 3rb group to allow for select fire, then it's up to your gunsmith/machinist again. New select-fire groups used to be like $130 from Scott Bell, but it's been at least six years since the last time I checked. Spike's require the back of the fire control well to be milled back about a quarter of an inch to give the link room to move and function. Depending on the upper, 1/8" may need to be milled off the underside of the takedown pin post to give the link and re-enforcer enough room to move freely. Burst is not possible with existing fire control groups and link parts, and no one has yet bothered to design one. |
