Does anyone know what the cost per pound would be for lizard litter? I haven't bought it in a while and want to compare that price to one I just got locally for bulk crushed walnut shells.

Well, $16.99 divided by 25 lbs = 67.8¢ per lb.

Depending on the brand (Lizard Litter vs. Kaytee) it's around $1+/pound at PetSmart.  PetCo is currently out of stock on these products, so I can't check their price.

I'm going to buy 100lbs or more so $0.10/lb is another $10 in my pocket.

Just heads up on the lizzard litter. They have decreased the size of the media, and I found it to be very dusty and less effective than the older larger stuff.

So I'm just getting into reloading... Can I assume that Lizard Litter is used to clean the brass in place of the corncob stuff?  If so, what other media is good for this that I can buy in bulk and can I reuse this stuff?   Meaning, can I reuse the same media more than once if the brass is not too dirty?

Thanks.

Walnut media with a half capful nupolish car polish works for me to clean several batches of dirty cases.  Corn cob works good to remove case lube.

One bowl full of walnut shells lasts me a few months and I tumble a lot of cases.

Same here. Run a cap of mineral spirits and a dryer sheet in it every once and a while and it will last a loooong time. I've been through several thousand rounds and I'm on my second bag of petsmart walnut and the first bag of cob.

ETA: Post 10/22!

You'll love the stuff! Its all I use now. Throw it into the tumbler with a sqiurt or three of nucar polish (I do this once in a great while)run for like 30 min. to mix it all then and shells.

I just use a cheese grader and grade corn cobs in my free time.
