I am using Varget powder for trying out loads for my POF 308 with Sierra 168gr MK bullets.  I was thinking of starting at 41gr of powder, is that too high or too low to start with?

I have the sierra book but that is for bolt guns right?  My POF 308 is a auto loader gas piston upper....  Or should I use these as the starting guidelines?

start at the lower end of the load data and find the load your rifle likes, I usually work in 1/10 grain increments after finding the most accurate 1/2 grain increment, groups of 5...it's so worth it.

A good starting point is for your bullet to between 2500-2550 fps.

A gas gun should not have loads as hot as a bolt gun.

I would not go over 2550 fps with 168/175 grain bullets.
