I just acquired an AR built to 7.62x39, The CORRECT bolt and everything else has been used. It is a STOVE PIPE machine on anything but WOLF junk.
I am looking at the same loads I use in the AK which functions perfect.
Load is 150 gr bullet with 47.0 of VARGET powder.

I am THINKING of a Hornaday 150 gr SST using H335 powder.
Anybody already solved that problem?

I hope you mean 27 grains and not 47 grains of varget.

Use the powder that was designed for 7.62x39, which is AA-1680.

I use 147 gr FMJ .310 bullets and 22.0 grs of AA-1680. Max listed is 22.5 grs.

Works great in my AK's.

That Varget load is fantasy. No way that much Varget would fit in the 7.62x39 case.

47 grs of Varget is a 150 gr, 308 Win load.

Good luck.

You are Correct that was for the AR10 OOPS would you believe 27.4 of H335 with the same SST 150 gr. Sorry I had just walked in from a drive up from Florida and the brain was on the new Arrmalite I bought.
The Mags are Pmags I THINK and he has this stove pipe problem with anything but the Wolf. He tried some Winchester white box and stove pipe. I am hoping that the loads I use now in the AK will function correct. I HAD a problem with the PSL but I added .3 gr to the load and it is happy now, was nicking the neck of the round at ejection.
Thank you, will pay MORE ATTENTION to what the fingers say since they are not taking orders from the brain.

If the SST is .308 diameter don't expect great accuracy.

Hes using PMAGS for 7.62X39?
I would change to a magazine specifically made for that ammo in a AR.
I run C products 30 rds, and have no trouble whatsoever.

47 grains of Varget is a 150 grain .30-06 load in a Garand.

Small cases with larger diameter bullets need faster burning powders. Try H322,  H4198 nothing slower than H335.
