I have some Independence 223 brass I am trying to load, I reamed the primer pockets with a lyman primer pocket uniformer on my drill, but still cant get but 1 in 3 primers to seat properly.
What should I do? |

What should I do? might help if you posted pics of the rounds you can't get primers to seat in showing the primer pockets. Also mention what you are trying to seat with. (Hand primer, press system? If press what make/model) Could be any number of reasons. I know on the LNL you can easily get a small sliver of brass or powder lodged in the slide mechanism just enough to not bring it in line to seat properly. |

A primer pocket uniform tool doesn't remove a primer pocket crimp. You need a primer pocket swage tool for that. Try using a deburring tool.. You'll figure out how much you have to remove. I use the Hornady bit but in a pinch a deburring tool will do the job...just don't over do it! |
