Hi all, I bought some of the Aussie ammo, a stripper clip guide and some USGI mags and I cannot seem to figure out how to easily load the magazine. I've put the guide on the magazine and pushed the stripper clip into the guide. When I try to push the rounds down into the mag nothing budges except sometimes the stripper clip gets partially forced into the mag. Looking at the stripper clips there is a small tab on either side that I assume is supposed to prevent the clip from moving down too far into the guide. I also haven't had very much luck using the charging guide on my M1A. Has anyone else had this sort of trouble? Is there some difference in the Aussie clips that makes them incompatible with the USGI gear? Thanks, Jeff |

One tip is that when you are pushing the rounds off the clip into the mag, make sure you are applying the pressure near the case head, not in the middle of the round. If you push in the middle, the rounds will just spread apart and jam up in the clip. It takes a bit of practice. -Troy |

The Aussie's had the FAL, not the M14 and there may be subtle differences in the clips. M14 clips are specific as are M14 clip guides. The FAL clips may not interchange. In US nomenclature these have always been just clips, going all the way back to the M1903 Rifle. -- Chuck |
