Lately I have been trying to decide on a vessel for all my range/shtf gear. I need something that will carry 1 pistol and 2 ARs with plenty of mags. Also room for plate carrier, battle belt and backpack. So basically all my 1st-3rd line gear including BDUs and boots. I can't decide if I should go soft bag similar to LBT load out bag or a big pelican case. It will mainly only go from my house to vehicle and back as hopefully this stuff will never actually be needed other than to have fun.
I'm leaning more towards soft bag right now and it's hard finding pics or videos of other people's methods. My main concern is not fitting everything in LBT medium size load out and their Large size being too big. If you guys have pics or videos can you post them? how does everyone store/transport all of their gear? I'm looking to consolidate my main SHTF weapon gear into one bag/container that I can grab. This is not intended to be a bug out bag as I'm not looking to hold "survival gear". Thanks everybody |

Have you checked out other companies to see if they offer a bag in the size you need other then LBT ?
As far as soft case hard case the thing I'd think about is how it's going to fit in your vehicle. Soft case gives and you shove and cram it in along with other things. Hard case will take up all it's space. My two cents anyway. ETA: Check out Ebags. Not a tac company but they have a lot of different bags that may work. |

I'd agree^^
Also pelican cases that big are heavy, you're probably looking at 25# or more just in the box then you throw AR and pistol in you're up near 40# with plate carrier you're probably near 60# so how much ammo and other gear are you putting in there on top of that and how far might you have to move it. I use two surplus parachutist bags for my kit and it works great, can even stand in one while I get dressed so my tootsies don't get cold or dirty. |
| I'd look into getting a rolling hockey bag from a thrift store on the cheap. I stupidly passed one up awhile back. Most of the have some outside pockets and a few small divided areas internally which would perfectly hold small items such as hats, gloves and maybe even a small pistol case. |

I have a Pelican 1620.
It's great for holding all my gear, but as others have said, it's incredibly heavy when loaded. |

I don't think you can "grab' the bag into which you have loaded all the stuff mentioned in your original post. You need to re-think. I think my 25 year old body can manage carrying 1st-3rd line gear plus a change of clothes and an extra rifle from a closet to my Xterra in the driveway. Im in fairly good shape. I already transport most of this stuff to my range on a monthly basis anyways but my current bag sucks. I will however, probably stay away from pelican cases as to not add extra lbs. |

I have a Husky rolling storage container that I load up when I have to move my gear. It fits everything plus ammo. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff77/somekindofboogin/10440684_756816257723015_3473842852992086377_n_zps389f869e.jpg That is some nice organization you have there. I like the rack you are using as well. Is that one of those industrial kitchen racks? Looks like some of the shelving we had holding all our heavy dishes in a restaurant I worked at years ago. |

That is exactly what type of shelving it is. |

I suggest staying away from a pelican case for carrying all your stuff, it ends up being long and annoying and heavy, although awesome and super durable.
i used to throw most of my gear in one, PC/rifle/pistol, holsters, ammo and med, and it weighs a metric ton, ive swtiched to soft gear getting thrown in to a GoRuck GR1 and usually just throw the rifle under my truck seat. id look into a range bag(REFT ASO or LBT) for your soft gear and a small hard/soft case for just the rifle /pistol. |

I'm thinking it's one thing to wear it, and another thing to carry it in one's hands. But if it works for you, then great! LBT puts their loadout bags on sale near the end/beginning of the month. The medium size might be right for you: something like this, but less expensive: http://lbtinc.com/bags-backpacks-packs/bags/load-out-bags/medium-wheeled-load-out-bag-with-padding-c.html |

Mostly tough boxes of multicam. |
