My last inspection the agent/inspector told me that I can no longer use Brownells gunsmithing book for my entries for gunsmithing, due to the gunmsithing book not having all the entries they would like, they say they want something more similar to the bound book for gunsmithing,  Do any of you guys know of any other good books for gunsmithing logs?

We use the same style of bound book for everything. One book has just Class 1 firearms, one has Class 3, and the other for gunsmithing.

Each book has a large label on the cover stating what it is for. The books we use come from Ellett Brothers. The main reason we use them is there is plenty of room in the spaces. Makes writing in all the info easier.

Try these people.  Their books are built to last a lifetime, which is good considering how many times it will be opened and closed.  They have more then one so look around

Did the BATFE agent specify which pieces of information were missing?

I use the same Brownells' book.  I know it does not have a separate line for disposition (thereby making the assumption that the gun goes back to the same person that brought it in, ie no 4473 required on the return of the gun after being worked on)

Brownells sells a different A & D log book that should suffice in any case...the ATF handbook even uses that same book's page format as an example off how to complete your A & D records.
