Ok, well, My ESEE3 came in, Wow what a knife! unfortunately, my hopes of using it as a daily work knife were kinda shot down, the knife is alittle bigger than I thought, and It just isnt something I would feel comfortable whipping out at work around customers to do everyday tasks.....So im in the market for a good FOLDER....and i am gonna have to sell the ESEE...shame, just got it yesterday. 
WANTS... able to be opened LEFT HANDED as Im a lefty  ....and preferably assisted...so I can open it one handed... and close one handed.... I want something of good quality without serrations...
I have used a CRKT Ignitor for a long time...its been a good knife i suppose...its super dull, and never was super sharp....and I HATE how its almost impossible to open left handed..... Im not too informed on knives, so I am looking, but if anything comes to your mind....please shout it out!  looking to stay around the 100 dollar mark...give or take 10$

I would still say to go try out some other fixed blades. Here are some of my own examples.
If you want a good fixed blade which is much stronger than a folder but still good for everyday carry, there are others to consider. The pink Izula is my parnter’s. She loves that thing. The Ka Bar Becker & Tool BK 11 is below that. It is also a neck knife like the Izula. Both are very strong and make great EveryDay Carry knives. 
As for folders, a person could probably get by with a folder like one of these. These are all US Kershaws, including the Zero Tolerance 0350 on top, then the Cyclone, Black Out, Leek, and Skyline. 
For a size comparison, here is that BK 11 and some of my Kershaws shown with a common Ka-Bar, Ruger LCP, KelTec P3AT, Glock 27s, Kahr PM9, and Buck Paclites.

Signed in to say, Kershaw Skyline, see i was sort of beat to it already... I just picked up one of these for a song (not here, but this is a decent price as well ( http://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-Skyline-Knife-Textured-Handle/dp/B001CZBDF8 ).
It has become my new daily carry, and though it is not assisted, the flipper makes it easy enough to open one handed, especially after you have "broken it in" a lithe (did this over the course of one episode of top shot right after getting it, open, close, open close). It's a liner lock, which I know some people don't like, and yes that would mean it is probably going to be more difficult for a southpaw, but at that price, maybe you could keep the Esee3? Worth a shot. |

Zero Tolerance 0350
hands down the best knife for the money out there. Build like a tank, very pocket friendly, and the pocket clip can be re-attachedto be more lefty friendly (tip up or down, left or right side). Its about the same size as a ESEE 3 as well. LOVE both the 3 and the ZT0350

They are discontinued. Kershaw probably had to drop the Cyclone before bringing out the ZT line. Having a tougher knife that is not in your premium line, such as Zero Tolerance, would not be good for the premium line. |
| My daily carry is an Ontario rat model 1. I have ZT350 also which I sometimes carry but for a near perfect carry folder worth 100$ but costing only 25$ nothing beats a model 1! Also the skyline is really hard to beat. Great edge retention light weight and just plain AWSOME. |

BM's Axis is tried & true and I love it for most applications. However, I still need the assist of my leg or other object to quickly close it with one hand. For that reason, my EDC BM's are either frame mono-lock, liner lock or Nitrous, as those are so easy to manipute with just 2 fingers. |

Gravity alone closes my blade. I have a 556 mini Griptilian, and pulling back the AXIS lock with just a slight downward angle causes it to close, like buttah. ETA: I made a quick video. This is not spring assisted, I just open it with a fast flick of the thumb. A little jiggle at the most sends the unlocked blade back into the handle. Click on the link to see the video. I suppose you gotta trust your grip to do this...as it could close onto your finger if you aren't paying attention. I've never posted a video on photobucket before. I just ordered a Manix 2 for $73 shipped from Amazon. I can't imagine getting much better for my money. 154cm is a pretty darn good steel it's made in the USA good locking system g10 handles all GTG. I agree that the ZT350 is a lot of knife for the money as well I just didn't want to have to sharpen that recurve style blade also the best price I could find was $112 shipped so $39 less for the Spyderco. Kick in a extra $34 I can have two Manix 2

I used to EDC a relatively expensive (100 < / < 200) folder... it served me well for years... then, one day out in the country - I lost it! Pissed me off... looked for it for an hour... nada!
Then I rethought my EDC choice... Decided to change to something that was less costly (and probably less durable and less sexy too) and more "practical"... and it has a much better warranty (lifetime) compared to my previous EDC - I got a Victorinox (Swiss Army) Sentinel. The Sentinel has only 1 blade and is available with or without serrations and with or without a clip. They are an ambidextrous one handed design with a liner lock. I can open and close mine with one hand (lefty) although I am a right hander. They are widely available and inexpensive... and are covered by the Victorinox lifetime warranty - if you have a problem not caused by abuse, Victorinox will replace the knife - you might have to pay postage 1 way... 
As long as you are thinking about an SAK... there are other models with more "functions" There is the 2 layer Dual Pro X >>

P.S.: Don't sell the ESEE-3! It's a great knife and if you go SAK, they are cheap enough that you wouldn't have to sell the ESEE to raise cash for its replacement...

I have many knives but the two that always end up being carried are my spyderco manix 2 and my benchmade axis lock triage. Both are ambidextrous with stud on both sides for the bench and hole for the spyderco, clip works on both sides as well. One note that I haven't seen others mention is the the lock on the manix 2 is very smooth and solid but almost requires 2 fingers to pinch it unlike the axis lock lock that can be used with one finger. I didn't notice this at first but after having friends fondle it and the girlfriend always messing with and using it, they seem to have a difficult time closing the blade. I also have a regular griptillian that I have had for years but got replaced by the triage. The axis is still holding up strong after years of abuse and almost gets smother with time. To the point of having an assisted opening knife I really don't see the need anymore besides the "cool" factor as they all are well made and deploy fast enough to get it done. I used to have a zt350 but it was too big in my jeans pocket to still access my cell and the studs are close to the scales.
