[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Lyman Tuffnut

I am new to reloading and picked up some of this stuff today on the way to house. Is this stuff good? Is it kind of like using walnut? Also, about how many .223 round can i put in a hornady tumbler? Thanks for the help

TN is a good media for cutting the crud off cases. Expensive but fast.

As to how much brass? Keep adding until the circulation stops, then take out 40 cases.

I used it for a few years(the same 7lbs.) and it seemed to work pretty well, I have since found much cheaper 50lb. bags of untreated walnut($19) so I get that. The Tuffnut has polishing rouge some claim that will wear or abrade your dies, I don't know.

I don't have that tumble so I cannot answer your .223 ?

I run from the Lyman walnut, which is what it is, because it is the worst stuff I have ever used for sticking in flash holes. I use Kaytee walnut bird litter and have virtually no problem at all.
