What's the hive think about this weapon for entry level? Looking to hunt with it and do a little target (non-competitive) shooting. Educate me! |

As long as you stay with quality mags its good to go. Had 1 for years never had any problems with it. Only drawbacks
are the gun is fairly heavy and if you plan to scope it, adds more weight. Not the greatest for carying for hunting but will certainly do the job and with the cost of ammo coming down is a great target gun but you wont be doing moa shooting with a stock M1A The best mod you can do on it is a 4.5 Trigger job which really makes it nice to shoot. |

If I could only have one rifle it would be an M14 clone! I think you will be quite happy with the standard. As you begin to get used to the rifle, you will be able to add accuracy improving tid's as you go. Start with standard, replace bolt innerds with GI. Next as time money permits have the trigger group match conditioned. Then, if you want have it bedded. Coupled with a match peep you will be good to hook.... I love the M14 and think every red blooded american should own a few |

do yourself a favor and save up to get the loaded.....its just thoes little things that turn a sweet rifle into an awesome member of the gun safe. This is the way I went, then I changed the op rod guide out with a Rooster guide (is he still around)? shimmed the gas cylinder and it shoots close to MOA if I do my part. |
