I was inspired by Gunnyhiway's latest posting of his 3 position shot pics, so I though I would post my most recent results from my load development for my SA M1A Std.

These groups were obtained at 100 yds, NM Irons, with the rifle held in a "Bulls Bag".

Bullet: 155gr A-Max
Powder: 44gr H4895
Case: Rem
Primer: WIN
OAL: 2.80
MV Ave: 2786 @80 F 800 ft. ASL
Group Size: 4 shots 1,1/4" with two touching
Notes: The pen scribles are my attempt to superimpose my other groups onto the pie plate to get zero data average.

Bullet: 155gr A-Max
Powder: 44gr H4895
Case: Rem
Primer: WIN
OAL: 2.80
MV Ave: 2786 @80 F. 800 ft ASL
Group Size: 4 shots 7/8"
Notes: My first groups with this recipe.  The 5th hole marked with a pen is a result of breaking position/NPA.

This is a typical group I'm obtaining with Wolf Gold 150gr PSP ammo.  The Gold line from Wolf is brass cased, boxer primed, "premium" ammo.  I think this ammo is a good alternative to NATO surplus.

Bullet: 150gr PSP
MV Ave: 2750 FPS @80 F. 800 ft ASL
Group Size: 4 shots 1, 7/8"
Notes: The two shots low and right are not part of the grouping.  I promise

These loads are definately "Minute of Haji or Hog"  I will continue to shoot my A-Max loading, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy some Wolf Gold if I needed some factory pills.  In my rifle the Wolf Gold printed 3.5" lower than my A-Max recipe.

I like that bullet!  I've got it out at 2.84"  which is just long enough to fit the mag but still within 0.020" of the lands when chambered in my tight match M1A.  It's pretty easy to match the wind drift numbers for the 175SMK.  A couple guys out here shoot (well, used to shoot) the 178grAMax at 600yds.
