I have an M1A that I am having a problem with.  This rifle fails to fully eject a casing about one out of every 20 rounds.  The spent casing gets jammed between the scope mount and the op rod.

I have replaced the extractor, extractor spring and plunger, the ejector and the ejector spring.  The FTE rate has decreased but has not been fully corrected.

I am using a Sadlak steel scope mount.

Any help on this one?  I am at a loss.

Sometimes the scope mounts do that.  Only thing I can think of is to take some material off the bottom of it where it's getting hung up.  Anyone one else got any good suggestions?  Stay safe!!!!

get some cheap paint and paint the inside of the scope mount.  the brass will mark the paint where it is striking the mount.  you may want to remove some material from there if that is the problem.

No. Tho NT's idea will work it's not fixing the root issue, see my post on the m14 forum, there is a problem may be Gas or the parts you replaced.

I had tha tproblem too. Brass was hitting the scope ring on mine. I swapped the thumb screw on the ring to the other side and will try it again.

Sadlaks are designed with a 5degree case deflector , so your issues should not be with the mount.

Have you checked the gas cylinder for tightness? With everything you've replaced it sounds like an intermittent gas leak.

+1 for the mount

try removing/cutting the center piece of the mount but the brass may hit the scope

I would consider a Troy Stock. Its high enough to allow the brass to clear and the stock is in line with scope.

Does it function without the mount?

I'm not sure I totally agree with that.  Others have posted the same problem on here a few times.  It seems that it isn't always a problem, but it can be.
