These were setup for my AR10.  Sorry no pics but my first rig was an Eagle vest with six fixed mag pouches across the belly.  It's the typical vest you see with the zipper down the middle.  This was great for going prone since it was relatively low profile with only one mag in each pouch.  The problem was that I could only carry one pistol mag.  Most would say that six mags of .308 is enough but I'd like to be able to carry more if needed so....

I switched to the same vest with MOLLE and put HSGI rifle pouches on it.  These hold two mags each.  I have four of the HSGI pouches for a total of 8 mags.  The downside is that prone shooting is a little uncomfortable.  I also put a couple of Spec-Ops X-4 pouches on either side for stuff (more ammo, first aid, tools, etc.).  Then I added some HSGI pistol mag puches and a compass pouch.  The other x-4 pouch has been removed.  I put a hydration carrier on the back again for "stuff".  Most the time it is not loaded to capacity.  I tend to load up a backpack and try to keep my vest fairly light.  I should have started with htis, but I use this for hiking mostly...not kicking doors and such.

HSGI, Available at SKDtac.com

http://www.skdtac.com/SearchResults.asp?cat=466&RefineBy_Manufacturer=HSGI&RefineBy_16583=&RefineBy_Price=&Search=

All the Magazine Pouches at the link above will hold .308 Magazines, as well as AK and M4....

The TACO is a Shingle that can hold any magazine, so if you want to use it for your M1A and AK or M4, the same rig will work for all of them..

Thanks...they are indeed HSGI pouches.  I got them here on the EE several years ago.  They came from different folks thus the variety of colors.

That Taco is slick, especially the rifle/pistol combo (although I didn't see it @ SKD). I may need to go to that since I have a mixed batch of toys (9/45/223/308)

Oh yeah - the double decker is teh shizznit.

I just picked up some Eagle double M4 pouches off the EE and as $$ allow will probably be transitioning to the DDTacos. The doubles are kind of bulky and after an honest assessment of my anticipated AO I don't see myself needing 8 rifle mags in addition to the other crap I'll be carrying. I just need to find a good ("cheap") source.

Love how the MSRP is $40 and dealers offer a "GREAT LOW PRICE!!!!! LQQK!" of a whopping $39.95.

Disclaimer - this is just my assessment of my anticipated needs, this is not an approval or condemnation of anybody else's choices or a refutation of their opinion. Lighten TF up Francis.
