I took an M1-A in trade  that seems to be a bit of an oddity.  

Any thoughts on this?   A quick search came up with the cold blue test in which it didn't do anything using brownells 44-40 cold blue as I did run across some threads about bare bolts.

Maybe the bolt is coated with Robar np3

It does appear to be coated rather than plated. It is forged bolt, so it should be a good one.
